About me Rita Mooney MIACP B.Sc.(Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy, Dip. Counselling & Psychotherapy, Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Level 9). I hold a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College. I have attended the ASIST workshop (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) which is delivered by the HSE. In addition to this I have a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. If you’ve never been to a therapist, you might wonder what people get out of talking once a week to a stranger about their life struggles. I have learnt the role of the therapist is to guide and support people, listening with intent, and how the power of human connection can shape the therapy outcome. As a professional therapist I am bound by the code of ethics of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), of which I am an accredited member. My approach is humanistic and integrative therapy and my aim is to tailor the therapy to your needs, as each client is individual and unique. |
